C. Stone Walsh, rider of Georgie's Pearl, trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Georgie's Pearl trained by Anthony McCann was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blizzard Of Oz, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
Kevin Healy, rider of The Weighbridge, trained by Simon Cavanagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and may have lost a shoe in running.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the home straight involving Daddy Long Legs (FR), ridden by P. Townend, Farren Glory, ridden by Josh Williamson, and Thecompanysergeant (GB), ridden by K.M. Donoghue where it appeared there was contact between Farren Glory and Daddy Long Legs. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Townend stated that he switched out and took up the position two off the rail and there was room for him to do so. Josh Williamson stated that the horse in front jumped left, pushing him out off his line. He added that he tried to ride his racing line back in. K. M. Donoghue stated that his mount jumped left and he went back to his racing line on the rail.. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
135B McHale Fusion 4 Range M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Commodity Broker, ridden by Sarah Kavanagh, and trained by Edward Cawley. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Sarah Kavanagh stated that her instructions were to drop in mid division and try get her mount to settle. She added that she knows the horse well from home and he is very difficult. Furthermore, she stated that he was very keen today, forced his way into gaps, jumped poorly and made a noise in running. Edward Cawley confirmed the instructions given and added that his charge is very keen and he was surprised how well he finished out the race considering how keen he was. He expressed his satisfaction with the ride considering what a difficult ride he had been. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Commodity Broker was found to have pulled its left fore shoe but to be otherwise post race normal. Samples were take for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given and took no further action regarding Rule 212. They were however satisfied that Sarah Kavanagh was in breach of Rule 213, in that she failed to report anything which might have affected the running of her mount in a race, and having considered her clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended Sarah Kavanagh for two racedays.
S. O'Callaghan, rider of Young Doran, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was on and off the bridle.
Sarah Kavanagh, rider of Commodity Broker, trained by Edward Cawley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hung left and right.
135C McHale Mayo H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed A. Balfe, rider of Digby, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that A. Balfe was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended A. Balfe for two racedays.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the back straight involving Jacovec Cavern (GB), ridden by R.J. Condon, Thornleigh Frank, ridden by D.J Gilligan, and Make Good, ridden by Kevin Healy, where it appeared Make Good hit the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R. J. Condon stated that he was aware of the horses on his inner and maintained his line. D. J. Gilligan stated that the horse on his outside leaned in and things got a bit tight. Kevin Healy stated that his race was run when he received very minor pressure from his outside causing him to hit the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards gave R. J. Condon the benefit of doubt on this occasion and they took no further action
135D McHale Tiger Roll Beginners S'chaseJ.G. Gilligan, rider of Bobbysingindablues, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.
J. Smith, rider of Listentillitellyea, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and may not have handled todays going.
P.T. Enright, rider of Jolie Jewel (FR), trained by Brian M. McMahon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was outpaced early on.
135E McHale Mayo National H'cap S'chaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined He's Gorgeous, trained by P.A.Fahy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident after jumping the last fence involving Drumgill, ridden by D. King, and Flash De Touzaine (FR), ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, where it appeared Flash De Touzaine drifted right carrying Drumgill off its line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident after the third last fence where it appeared Maxxum, ridden by D. J. Gilligan, had to check for a stride. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
135F McHale F5 Range Veterans Hcap S'chaseD.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Sammy Smart (GB), trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a mistake at the second last fence first time around.
Alan O'Sullivan, rider of Magnor Glory, trained by Terence O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered by the loose horses.
J. Smith, rider of Tullybeg, trained by Brian M. McMahon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered by the loose horses.
